Units and cases
The consumer unit is the individual saleable item. A case contains a defined number of units, such as 24 cans or 12 bottles. Always confirm whether the quoted price refers to the unit or the complete case.
Layers and pallets
Cases are arranged in layers on a pallet. The number of cases per layer multiplied by the number of layers gives the cases per pallet. Pallet dimensions, total height and gross weight are needed for warehouse and transport planning.
Gross weight and net weight
Net weight normally describes the product itself. Gross weight includes product and packaging and may include the pallet depending on the document. Freight calculations normally need gross shipping weight.
Cubic volume
CBM means cubic metres. It is calculated by multiplying length, width and height in metres. Container utilization depends on volume, weight, palletization and safe loading constraints—not CBM alone.
